Philip Anthony EspositoOC (ESP-ə-ZEE-toh,[1]Italian:[eˈspɔːzito]; born February 20, 1942) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, coach and executive, and current broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Lightning. A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, he played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Black Hawks, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers, winning two Stanley Cups with Boston.
He is considered one of the greatest players of all time, and is the older brother of fellow Hall-of-Famer Tony Esposito, a goaltender. He became the first player to score more than 100 points in a season, with 126 in 1968–69, a feat he would later achieve a further 5 times, also becoming the first player to score 50 goals in a season 5 times in a row, including the then record of 76 goals in 1970–71 to go with the then record 152 points the same year. Altogether, he won the Art Ross Trophy as the leading point scorer five times, led the league in goals six times, was voted the Hart Trophy for MVP twice, and was named as a first team All-Star centre six times.

Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Esposito is a retired American soccerforward who played professionally in the Western Soccer Alliance, Major Indoor Soccer League and National Professional Soccer League.
Youth
[edit]In 1983, Esposito graduated from Riverside High School. During his four year high school career, Esposito scored 150 goals and went to three New Jersey High School soccer championships.[1] In 2003, Riverside inducted Esposito into its Hall of Fame.[2] Esposito attended Rutgers University, playing on the men's soccer team from 1983 to 1986. He was a 1986 All American and is in second place on the school's career goals and points lists and fourth on the career assists list.[3] In 1999, Rutgers inducted Esposito into the school's Hall of Fame.[4]
Professional
[edit]In 1987, the Cleveland Force selected Esposito in the third round of the Major Indoor Soccer League draft. When the Force folded in 1988, he moved to the Los Angeles Lazers. The Lazers folded a year later. On July 11, 1989, the Dallas Sidekicks selected Esposito in the first round of the dispersal draft, but he chose to join the Lazer's coach, Keith Tozer, in a move to the Atlanta Attack of the National Professional Soccer League instead.
