The exhibition Exhibiting the collection. Architectural Projects from the Collection of MAXXI Architetturacollections presents a selection of over 70 works by 18 architects, the majority of which are on show for the first time while all are drawn from the Museum of Architecture’s collections.
A broad variety of exhibits ranging from the 4.5-metre model of the Messina Bridge designed by Sergio Musmeci to the buildings by Giancarlo De Carlo for Beirut, from the reconstruction of the Fenice Theatre in Venice by Aldo Rossi to the thalassotherapy park in Alicante by Toyo Ito, from the set designs by Costantino Dardi for Peter Greenaway’s film The Belly of the Architect to the Postcards by Yona Friedman, present the museum’s latest acquisitions and expand through videos and interviews our knowledge of the protagonists and the projects that have marked the history of Italian architecture from the 20th century through to the present day.
The exhibition is completed by 3 of the 273 projects presented in 1998 for the International Architectural Competition staged by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities
